As a culture freak, Álvaro is the founder and owner of an independent publishing house focused on extending the knowledge of minority languages and other indie topics. He is also a regular contributor for music and contemporary art magazines in Spain and the US. A rugby lover, he publishes a specialized e-magazine and acts as a TV narrator and commentator for rugby matches of the Spanish national league.

Álvaro collects contemporary art prints and graphic art, and loves hiking, painting, literature and history. A madrileño, he speaks fluently Spanish and English, and has a useful knowledge of German, Portuguese, Catalan and Lithuanian.
