Khalishah Nadhirah Abu Bakar
Before benshi, Khalishah was a data scientist for InfoCepts, an international data and analytics services firm, where she worked on anomaly detection models, demand forecasting (using time series and survival analysis) and feature engineering. Also, she was involved in different prototype models, and facilitated the development of an AI platform for travel retailer DFS. Before that, she worked as content developer for Tueetor, an automated platform for online tutoring.
She also has research experience, having conducted statistical research for Singapore General Hospital. There, she analyzed medical datasets to study the effects of education and medication adjustment on the risk of diabetes complications in the month of fasting during Ramadan. Her results were published in several research journals.
Awarded with a fully-funded scholarship, Khalishah graduated with a summa cum laude in MSc in Urban Science, Policy and Planning (with Data Science specialization) from the Singapore University of Technology and Design. She also holds a BSc in Statistics (with a major in biostatistics and a minor in public health) from the National University of Singapore.
She is an active volunteer. For example, she has worked with Hope Villages in Cambodia, tutored with AIESEC in Vietnam, and contributed to organizations in Singapore as a data lead. Her work has been featured by media outlets in Singapore.
