Enric Jané

Global Health

Dr. Enric Jané has devoted the last 15+ years to improving health, working in consulting, academic and donor organizations in developed and developing countries. Enric is currently supporting organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Gates Ventures and Terre des hommes, developing innovative projects to improve the performance of health systems in low- and middle-income countries.

In his last role as Senior Program Officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (US), Enric focused on the improvement of primary health care through the expansion of community health workers systems, the use of information and communication technologies and increasing the funding for child survival strategies.

Prior to his appointment at the Gates Foundation, Enric was Special Advisor to the Director-General at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (Spain), where he provided support in strategic planning, implementation of special projects and coordination of the center’s departments. His previous appointments have been at the Manhiça Health Research Center (Mozambique), where he was special advisor to the Director-General and contributed to the development and implementation of the center’s strategic plan as well as the implementation of new technologies for health research. Enric also headed the Office for Scientific Coordination and Translational Research at the Barcelona Center for International Health Research (Spain) and worked as a consultant in the health sector.

Enric holds an MD degree, a BSc in Physics and a PhD from the University of Barcelona (Spain), as well as an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University (NY, USA)
